Dog Owners
If your dog has been diagnosed with cancer and you want access to new vaccines to treat your dog's cancer.
Vets
If you are a veterinary professional and want to treat your canine patients with new and effective cancer therapies.
The challenge
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in dogs. For most canine cancers, treatment options remain limited and outcomes are often uncertain, with many debilitating side effects. CaniVax is developing a range of new and effective cancer vaccines to combat the disease.
Our approach
Rather than treating cancer broadly with chemotherapy, our approach focuses on educating the immune system to recognise the cancer and eliminate it. We engineer cancer vaccines that target the dog's immune response to the cancer. They treat the cancer with minimal side effects.
The science
Our work is grounded in established principles of cancer biology, immunology and vaccination, applied to canine cancer.
Our vaccine platform follows a rigorous science-driven development pathway, from new antigen discovery through to veterinary clinical trials.

A science-led approach to canine cancer
Most existing cancer treatments rely on old-fashioned chemotherapy which often causes unpleasant side-effects which make your dog feel even worse.
CaniVax aims to develop new vaccines that educate the dog's natural immune system to target antigens present on the tumours.
As a result, vaccination allows the immune system to distinguish cancer cells clearly from healthy cells, limiting the unpleasant side effects and killing the cancer cells.
CaniVax's approach is based on identifying tumour-specific antigens present on cancer cells and using them to guide immune recognition. By making cancer more visible to the immune system, our vaccine strategy provides a more focused immune response.
In practical terms, our approach follows four deliberate steps:
1. Identify antigens that are specific to the dog's cancer
2. Confirm which of these antigens can arm your dog's immune response
3. Engineer vaccines that present these antigens to your dog's immune system
4. Vaccinate your dog and measure the cancer-specific immune response
Vaccine development with regulatory body guidance
CaniVax applies robust scientific platforms to carefully guide its vaccine design, working in collaboration with veterinary professionals and regulatory bodies.
"Our goal is to develop a new range of effective canine cancer vaccines, providing owners with better therapeutic options than those that are currently available." - CaniVax CEO
